White wine, so divine

Historically, white wines have always been known to complement fish dishes and light meals. Is it gajak time? Gato arouille will go perfectly with a crisp white wine made from the Gewürztraminer grape that has fruity aromas and sweet notes but isn’t too overpowering. Try: Vina Esmeralda, Torres, Spain

Adding density with its freshness and vanilla notes, your famous bouillon de poisson would be perfect with the acidity of a dry white wine such as a Chardonnay. Try: Latour, Chardonnay, Grand Ardèche, France Complement your fish vinnday with a white wine made from the Viognier grape variety. Its silky texture and sweet-spicy aroma go hand in hand with the power of the vinnday’s spices. Try: Secret de Famille, Jaboulet, Côtes du Rhône, France

Red red wine, you make me feel so fine

The tannins and aroma of a full-bodied red wine such as Bordeaux will complement the game meat’s flavour in your kari cerf. Try: Puy Laborde Castle, Bordeaux, France or for a kari poule try: Merlot, South Africa For your minn frit, pick a red wine made from the Pinot Noir grape variety. Its freshness will add energy to the dish while its red fruits aromas won’t overpower the dish. Try: Pinot Noir, Gallo, California, United States | For boulettes, try a light red wine: Beaujolais Villages, Duboeuf, France

Or is rougay sosis and bouillon bred on tonight’s menu? Grab a bottle of a silky red wine that has tannins but won’t accentuate the acidity of the tomatoes in the rougay. Try: Le Petit Pas, Lurton, Côtes du Roussillon, France

Rosé, all day

Day drinking? Do it in all elegance with Rosé… ideal for light lunches and salads. The crispness and fruitiness of a Rosé will wonderfully complement your beach barbecue. Try: Château Roubine, Rosé, France
